Roof Panels Installation
Metal roofing can be installed directly on open rafters. A metal roof can easily be installed directly over open rafters.
Flat Roof Installation
Although flat roof solar panel systems are more commonly found on commercial buildings, they also work well on domestic properties.
Ground Mounted Panels
Ground-mounting your solar panels allows you to build a bigger system and achieve greater power output, but at a higher cost per watt.
Many modern constructions favor metal roofs, which means they come in all designs, shapes
and sizes. We are able to install panels on all roof types, including metal roofs and those made
of corrugated metal. Most installations on metal roofs don’t require drilling holes or penetrating
the metal, but the method of installation will depend on the design of the individual roof. If drilling
is required, all necessary precautions will be taken to ensure that your roof remains watertight
Flat roof solar panels are most commonly found on commercial properties, but they are also
suitable for homes. The panels themselves are identical to those that would be used on a tilted
roof – it’s just the installation is a little different. Strictly speaking, you could lay the panels flat,
but this would reduce their efficiency and could lead to water damage. Therefore, a titled
mounting system is generally installed for the panels to sit on, which also ensures the panels
self clean in the rain and avoid damage from pooling water.
The primary benefit of ground mounts is that you can maximize solar generation by choosing
the optimal orientation for the panels, which isn’t possible with tilted rooftop installation. Ground
mounts are also a great option if your roof isn’t strong enough to support the weight of a solar
array. When it comes to the installation, panels are fixed upon a metal frame that has been
secured by suitable foundations
Solar Power System Project Management
If you’re thinking of converting to solar power, and are doing your research on how to do it, you’ll no doubt have realized that it’s not quite as straightforward as most people might think.
From figuring out the best design for your installation, to applying for permits, arranging financing and finding a solar installer that’s not going to take you for a ride, it’s a mammoth task that requires a lot of time and a lot of expertise.
That’s why we’re here to help. At Green Home Makeover, we pride ourselves on the honesty and integrity with which we do business.
We ensure that you get the right service for your needs, and make sure that you don’t spend a penny more on equipment than is necessary to meet those needs.
We’re able to offer up to date advice on the ever-changing federal and state incentives, whether you’re eligible for solar tax credits or a solar rebate and we’ll handle the complex application process on your behalf.
We offer more than 7 years of industry expertise, and are well equipped to handle any and all questions you might have about any aspect of the project.
We will guide you through the entire process, and give you all of the impartial and honest information that you need to make the right choices and get the best deal for you.
We will handle all aspects of your solar project, from A to Z, so that you can spare yourself:
The burden of months of research
Mountains of paperwork
The complexities of organizing each of the individual elements
The risk of being exploited due to your lack of expertise
Below is an in-depth look at the services that we provide.
Technical Analysis And Solar Power System Design
We carry out a detailed technical analysis of your property specifications, taking into account:
The orientation of your home
Suitable roof space
The tilt of your roof
What material your roof is made of
An assessment of land attached to the property, if you are considering a ground-mounted solar array.
We will also calculate your projected power consumption for future years, by analyzing:
Your energy consumption history
The number of people living within the household
Whether any members of the household will move out within the next five years
Whether you intend on purchasing any additional large electrical appliances or an electric car in the near future.
When we have all of this relevant information, we can determine what your best options are and we’ll be able to design a solar energy installation suitable for your needs.
The design will also be affected by the type of solar panel that you choose. Solar panels come in three types: monocrystalline solar panels, polycrystalline solar panels and thin-film.
The monocrystalline panel is formed of a single silicon crystal, cut into wafers. Polycrystalline panels are formed of multiple silicon crystals, and thin film are a type of flexible solar panel that does not contain crystalline silicon.
Monocrystalline solar panels are the tier one panel, and are the most efficient and have the longest lifespan. For this reason, they’re the most cost-effective option and so we only offer monocrystalline panels.
How many panels is necessary for your solar power system to meet your energy needs will be dependent on both the results of the analysis and the wattage of the panels you choose.
We offer a range of different options, with the lowest having a power output of 327 watts and the highest being 425 watts. We use SunPower solar panels, which come with a 25 year warranty and a 40 year life expectancy.
Our expertise will inform which type of solar inverter is most appropriate for your home, and whether batteries would be a suitable add-on to your solar installation.
Inverters come in four main types:
The off-grid solar inverter, also known as the stand-alone solar inverter, which is not connected to the grid and instead is used to charge solar batteries with AC voltage.
The on-grid solar inverter, also known as the grid tie inverter, feeds excess solar power into the local utility grid.
The special battery backup solar inverter, which recharges batteries from backup AC supply and feeds excess generated solar power into the grid.
The hybrid solar inverter, which recharges a solar battery system so that the excess solar energy can be used later, and which is also connected to the grid.
Designing a solar power system suitable for your energy requirements is a difficult job without in-depth industry knowledge. Leave it to the experts, and you’ll get it right the first time.
Financial Assessment & Financing For Your Solar Power System
We will take into account all of the above factors, as well as assessing your personal situation to determine the best financial options available to you.
With this knowledge, we can offer honest recommendations to ensure that you get the best deal for your individual needs and goals. We don’t have an angle – our primary goal is to have a happy customer, and we pride ourselves on our integrity.
In some situations, leasing a solar installation would make more financial sense to you than buying, and if we determine that to be the case through our analysis process, we are always up front so that you have all of the information.
We offer a range of financing packages that can be tailored to you and, when you’ve made your choice, we will handle all of the paperwork so that you don’t have to worry about a thing.
We’ll also advise you on whether you’re eligible for solar tax credits and solar rebates, and manage the application process on your behalf.
Solar System Project Management
When we have completed our assessment of the best options for your solar energy system, we will match you with an installer that is suitable for your needs. During the process, we will play a support role regarding the project management.
We will ensure that everything moves along smoothly and that there are no problems or delays. We will also ensure that all the necessary inspections take place following the solar installation.
If there are any problems that arise, we will liaise with the solar installation company on your behalf to make sure that they are promptly resolved.
Solar Power After Care
When the project is completed, we remain on-hand for any problems that might arise. After the installation project, we offer:
Advice on how to monitor your solar power system
Advice on how to get the best out of your solar panels
Advice on solar panel maintenance
Advice on solar panel cleaning services
Information about any necessary inspections
We also stay engaged and are available to answer any questions you may have at any point
